The Toyota C-HR is a fuel-efficient and stylish compact SUV. It has a nice cabin with lots of tech features and a full suite of advanced safety features. Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level LE trim comes with 17-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, LED running lights, LED headlights, and the option for alloy wheels. The XLE is up next in the lineup with 18-inch alloy wheels, body-colored side mirrors, and keyless entry. The XLE Nightshade Edition adds to the XLE with black alloy wheels, black sidemirror housings, black door handles, and a sporty black chin spoiler. Engine (Power)
Every C-HR gets its power from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 144 horsepower. It works with Toyota's continuously variable automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive.
Performance
The 2.0-liter under the hood of the C-HR has plenty of pep for getting around town. It quickly accelerates from a stop, and it delivers a comfortable ride. This SUV has an accurate and responsive steering system that provides the driver with confidence when heading around tight corners, while its small size and tight turning radius also make this SUV ideal for urban driving. It will easily slip into small spaces and fit into tight parking lots.
Interior
The C-HR's cabin has room for five with spacious and comfortable front seats. Behind all the seats, there is over 19 cubic feet of cargo space, and with the back seats folded down, the space opens up to 37cubic feet. Cloth upholstery comes standard, and even the base trim has automatic climate control, height-adjustable front seats, and a self-dimming rearview mirror. The XLE adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the Limited has an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat and heated front seats. You'll also get leather upholstery in the top-level Limited. Standard tech features in the C-HR include an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a USB port, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and Amazon Alexa. Satellite radio also comes standard, along with a six-speaker stereo and auxiliary input.
Safety Features
Toyota's Safety Sense 2.5 comes standard in the 2021 C-HR. This bundle of safety features includes forward collision mitigation, lane-keep assist, automatic high beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, and road sign recognition. The XLE adds a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert to alert the driver of vehicles in their blind spot when changing lanes. The Safety Sense bundle also comes with cyclist detection, pedestrian detection, and lane-tracing assist, along with automatic high beam headlights. The C-HR comes standard with additional safety systems such as stability control, anti-lock brakes, and a full suite of air bags, including an under-cushion air bag for the front passenger.
