2023 Toyota Sequoia
The Toyota Sequoia is a full-size, three-row SUV that offers fuel efficiency, many standard features, and an upscale and comfortable cabin. For the 2023 model year, the Sequoia receives comprehensive styling updates, a new hybrid powertrain, and an independent front suspension.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
You can choose from five trim levels when purchasing a Sequoia: the SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and Capstone. The base trim is equipped with a wide range of premium standard features. Apart from 18-inch alloy wheels and front and rear mudguards, the base model comes with LED headlights and taillights, LED fog lights, and a power tilt/slide moonroof. You also get heated and power-folding side mirrors with a reverse tilt-down feature and turn-signal indicators.
The Limited trim adds 20-inch machined alloy wheels and satin chrome-plated roof rails. With the Platinum trim, you can expect LED taillights with sequential turn signals, premium LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The off-road-focused TRD Pro trim is equipped with a dual-tip exhaust, an aluminum front skid plate, LED marker lights, and a TRD Pro LED light bar. Upgraded features included with the top-of-the-range Capstone trim are automatic power-extending running boards and 22-inch machined-finish alloy wheels.
Engine (Power)
Every Sequoia is powered by a hybrid powertrain that consists of a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and an electric motor and generates a combined 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission comes standard, and so does rear-wheel drive. A four-wheel-drive system is optional, except with the TRD Pro trim, which comes with four-wheel drive by default.
Performance
You'll receive an efficient ride from the Sequoia's new hybrid engine. Estimated fuel economy ratings are 21 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. The Sequoia is also a powerful SUV. When it's properly equipped, the Sequoia can tow up to 9,520 pounds. For easier towing, opt for the available load-leveling rear height control air suspension, which allows you to lower or raise the vehicle's height.
Interior
The redesigned cabin of the Sequoia is upscale and well-equipped. The standard 8-inch infotainment system offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, SiriusXM, navigation, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, satellite radio, and multiple USB ports. The base trim also comes standard with fabric-trimmed seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a multi-level adjustable cargo shelf system, and three-zone automatic climate control.
The higher trims add various luxury features, including heated and ventilated front and rear seats, driver-seat memory, a 10-inch head-up display, second- and third-row sunshades, and leather upholstery. You can also opt for available power-folding third-row seats. For additional storage space, fold down the third-row seats and slide the bench forward. Use the adjustable cargo shelf system to organize your cargo more effectively.
Safety Features
The Toyota Safety Sense safety suite, which is offered as standard gear with the Sequoia, will help keep you and your family safe on the road. Standard features include pre-collision alert with pedestrian detection, radar cruise control, lane-departure alert, lane-tracing assist, and road-sign assist. You also receive a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking assist, and a panoramic view monitor with cameras.
