On the weekend, sometimes it can be hard to decide on what to do with your family or with your significant other. And in Annapolis, MD, there’s a good reason for that: there are a lot of options! But one option that’s always a good idea is checking out local music venues for live music! There are plenty to choose from in the area, but to make things easier for you we’ve compiled a list of our favorites!
1. Dinner Under the Stars
If you’ve spent any time in Annapolis during the summer, you know that Dinner Under the Stars is something you can’t miss out on! Only running on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the warmer summer months, Dinner Under the Stars offers Annapolis residents the opportunity to enjoy music, dance, and other performances while having a fantastic meal. You can order food from a wide range of participating restaurants and they’ll bring it right to your table.
From 6:30-9:30, you can enjoy acts such as Naptown Funk and Moonlighters, who bring lively Motown music to Annapolis, or jazz acts like Wendell Rakosky, who pays tribute to the great Frank Sinatra, or Unified Jazz. One of the most anticipated events this year is Latino Fest, which will feature exhilarating Salsa, Cumbia, and Bachata music from all over Latin America!
2. Stan and Joe’s Saloon
Since January of 2007, Stan and Joe’s Saloon has been one of our favorite places to sit back, have a drink, and listen to great local musicians do their thing. The best part about Stan and Joe’s Saloon is that they don’t charge a cover! So if you want to go out without breaking the bank, this is your place.
Stan and Joe’s Saloon hosts diverse acts such as Troll Tribe, The Leftovers, West St. Revival, and Desert Shade, usually from 8 pm to midnight or closing from Wednesday to Saturday. And Stan and Joe’s Saloon participates in the previously mentioned Dinner Under the Stars!
3. Ram’s Head On Stage
This next entry is one of our favorite places to see larger music acts up close and in person. Ram’s Head On Stage hosts amazing musicians throughout the year for lovers of all genres!
