Maryland’s capital city is nestled into the picturesque Chesapeake Bay, providing many scenic spots for tourists and locals. Whether you’re interested in nature, history, physical activity, or boating, there’s something for everyone. You’ve packed the family and a picnic into your Toyota Corolla Cross, but where to go? Read on to discover some of the best views in Annapolis, MD.

Annapolis City Dock

The first place to stop and soak in the sunshine and scenery is known as the “historic heart” of Annapolis. The city dock is a fun place to watch boats cruise in and out, and there’s some excellent people-watching, too! Take a boat tour on the Harbor Queen and explore the “Ego Alley” waterway running off the Severn River. If you’d like to take the wheel, you can learn to sail on the Schooner Woodwind.

As well as enjoying excellent views of the harbor, you can also spend some time looking at the unique boutiques and gift shops in the area. Locally-owned shops feature stunning goods sourced from all over the world. Not a fan of shopping? Check out the art galleries, historic inns, and pubs!

Amos Garrett Waterfront Park

Why not check out the views of Annapolis from the water? Amos Garrett has a grassy spot to launch your kayak so you can take a paddle into the historic district. There is good street parking without a time limit near the park, so you can spend all afternoon taking in the sights and sounds without rushing back to top up the parking meter. Get a glimpse of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and check out the shore of Truxton Park.

If you don’t have sea legs, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the park on one of the benches that are sprinkled around. The Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts is nearby, so you can go and indulge in some arts and culture when you are done hanging out in nature.

Jonas and Anne Catharine Green Park

For beautiful views of the Severn River, Horseshoe Point, and the Naval Academy Bridge, we recommend spending the afternoon strolling around the JAC Green Park. You can eat your picnic on the sandy beach while watching people launch their boats or take a walk down to the pier and enjoy some fishing. Paved trails run through the park if you want to walk off your large lunch, and public restrooms are available.

As you can see, there are tons of excellent spots to check out the gorgeous scenery of Annapolis. Need a car to take you? Come and see us at Koons Annapolis Toyota, and we’ll find the perfect vehicle to suit all of your budgetary and lifestyle needs.
